based on the ideas of "Tragedy" and a longing deep in the gut – Tragics works to create visuals to express these ideas.

I was recently involved in The Oratorium (presented by MATERIAL) which was part of the 2nd Annual Perform! Now!, multi-gallery performance show in Los Angeles, Ca. I performed the following piece alongside 8 other visual artists in a "simultaneous reading". My piece was constructed using news stories, headlines, commercial tag lines, facebook status updates, twitter posts and song lyrics.

The short film Cannonball was created as part of the Graduate Film Conservatory at Chapman University through a collaborative effort of alumni Mark Powell, Rachel Skidmore, Nathan Carrington, Ben Cox, and Roxanne Mobley. The five filmmakers spent over a year crafting what would become a laugh-out-loud, polished, blockbuster style, commercial comedy. Now that the film is complete -- including the addition of a major label soundtrack, thanks to Music Supervisor Anna Sherwood -- the group plans to showcase their film at festivals around the world.

Working with the Cannonball team & Humble Giants, I designed and coded the films website. The site needed to reflect the fun, exciting nature of the film, and needed to contain a high amount of copy. We focused on stylizing the site according to the Poster/Collateral we had already created. Moving from there I laid out the website in a classic format to house a large amount of text. The site features a smooth scroll to reinforce the fun, and central, "cannonball" aspect of the film (i.e the user is "plunging" into the site).

Visit Cannonball here.

A selection of style visuals I created for the Gnarly Clothes brand. The brand prides itself on being a mix of grimy boarders with a loose dirtbag style. Working with this, I created a few sample visuals to enhance and refine the brand into something new and exciting.

MATERIAL is a journal started by artists interested in the writings of other artists. We are a home for divergent opinions, uses, and appropriations of language, encouraging "speculations and appreciations, rantings if need be, phantasies, lectures, nocturnes...and inventions."(*). We solicit friction and conviviality both, from a wide community of artists.

Working with MATERIAL I helped re-create their website to better suite their needs. They needed a website to hold all their online content, which changes monthly, as well as general information about events, people etc... I was able to take their website, streamline everything, and re-structure the site to be easy to understand, navigate and enjoy. The typefaces, hierarchy and structure were designed to reflect the minimal, bare-bones, structure that the physical journal has. I was responsible for the design, coding & testing. Logo and all other text were provided.

Hampton Apples started out as a photography project and transformed itself into a short book.

I originally wanted to use my cell phone camera to document my trip to NYC. At the time i had a Sidekick 2, and loved it, so it made sense. Once the photos were taken, and I was back home. I realized the photos presented a great metaphor for how I see New York City: A blurry mess of oddities and over-exposure.

I decided to take this idea and incorporate text that related to the history, future, and folklore of New York, the state. I melded the images and text in a way that creates a sense of impossible to understand journalism. Text gets lost, images are incomprehensible, and yet there are moments of quiet beauty where everything is clear. This was the essence of my experience, and I convey that with this short book.

Samples from the book:

This Home is a personal collage series created based on my idea of "home". I pull from collective history, as well as my own feelings about & relation towards the idea of "home". I'm working with the idea of movement as well as stagnate placement, as a way to illustrate my thoughts on the subject.

Each piece measures 10" x 8".
