Re-Opening is a MATERIAL Press project, made for the Mining The Archive series at Outpost for Contemporary Art. Re-Opening is a selection of 10 articles, advertisements and reviews from the archive that have been reinterpreted by contemporary artists.

Working with MATERIAL Press, I designed a journal to hold the archived work as well as the artist interpretations. The journal features 2 different page sizes that work together to re-enforce the idea of the journal. The archived material appears on the larger pages which function as the backbone for the book, and the artist responses are featured on half-size pages that appear within, and hidden inside of, the large archive pages. The layout re-enforces the idea of a big history, and the intermingling of contemporary artists responding to the past.
